While they have a similar business model, the mattresses are actually quite different. - Saatva is bouncier/more responsive
- Amerisleep generally performs a little better with motion isolation

You Might Want To Choose Saatva If:
You Want A More Traditional Feel– Saatva definitely has a traditional innerspring feel. If this is what you are used to and prefer, then Saatva would be a clear choice for you.
You Want More Bounce/Resilience– Some people like their mattress to be very quick to respond or bouncy. You definitely get that more with Saatva than with the Amerisleep mattresses.

You Might Want To Choose Amerisleep If:
You Like A Slight Sinking Into The Mattress Feel– With the majority of Amerisleep’s models, you feel that you sink into the mattress just a bit (especially when compared to with Saatva). It is a more pure memory foam feel. If you are used to this and like it, Amerisleep might be the way to go.
You Want Options– Amerisleep developed 5 different models to cater to all the different types of sleepers. If you have other-than-average sleeping preferences, then this can be especially helpful in making sure you get the right mattress for you.
Motion Transfer Is A Big Issue For You– If you sleep with a partner, then you might want to consider how the mattress you are looking at does at isolating motion. Amerisleep mattresses do an exceptional job with this. Saatva performs fairly well, but Amerisleep typically does better at isolating motion.

What It Comes Down To
The feel of Saatva and the Amerisleep mattresses is very different. To me, it really comes down to whether you like memory foam mattresses or traditional innerspring mattresses more. Both offer a really great value, so it really just comes down to personal preference on what type of feel you like.
If you like sleeping “on” the mattress with a more resilient, traditional feel, then Saatva is the way to go. If you want to sink into the mattress a bit and prefer the slower-moving memory foam feel, then Amerisleep is the clear choice.
Overall
Both of these companies have great mattresses that represent really good values. The differences in feel are pretty stark, so make sure you figure out generally what kind of feel you prefer and then the decision should be a lot easier for you to make.
