We wanted to welcome you to our Blogger blog for Mattress Clarity. As the name suggests, we are looking to bring clarity to the mattress industry. We believe that the mattress industry was ripe for disruption on many levels. Consumers tend to get very confused and end up overpaying for a mattress that isn't right for them. What are the main issues?
#1- Prices- The traditional mattress business model leaves the consumer paying a lot of money. The manufacturer needs to pay for the materials, labor, and overhead to make the mattress. They also need to make a profit. They then sell the mattress into a store, which marks the product up a lot because they need to pay for the all the costs associated with running a retail store. They also need to pay commissions to their salespeople and at the end of the day they need to make a profit along the way. The end result is a product that has been marked up way more than it needs to. The online retailers have directly addressed this issue by cutting out the middle man. Prices simply needed to come down.
#2- Confusion- Most people aren't mattress experts. They just want to figure out which mattress type would be best for them. They might try to compare different models to each other, but the traditional retailers make that almost impossible a lot of time. The same model can be called 4 different names across different stores. It's all a very confusing process.
Ultimately, these are the reasons why we created Mattress Clarity. We want to give you the information you need in a simple and easy to understand format. There are a number of factors that should influence which mattress you should buy. We will highlight how each mattress addresses those factors and tell you which type of person would like the mattress and which type of person wouldn't like that mattress. Buying a mattress shouldn't be that hard. We aim to make it as easy as possible for you.
